USB - RS232 adaptor

Units supplied may be of different appearance but will always be based on the FTDI chip

USB232
Not all USB to serial (RS232) adaptors are created equal. If your computer lacks a serial (COM, RS232 port) you will need an adaptor. The adaptor we offer is based on the FTDI chips, which have proven themselves the most dependable. We carry this adaptor purely as a convenience service, so you can order it with your SPLat Developer's Kit. Drivers can be downloaded from the FTDI download page. The VCP driver is the correct one.

Crimping Tool
Crimping Tool
For information about the required housings and pins used on our products, refer to: We are often asked which crimping tool should be used for the 0.1" and 0.156" connectors in our products. Our favourite is the "Elpress Mobile" tool from Elpress in Sweden. Both the tool and die set are available from numerous suppliers, including Crimptech in Australia: We are not affiliated with either company and we do not sell this tool.
