The version of SPLat/PC that brought you here is a 16-bit program, originally written for Windows 3.11. We have now discontinued that program and upgraded SPLat/PC to a 32-bit version. 32-bit versions will have a version number 10-point something or greater, starting with 10.21.0. The second number (21) is the supported dialect (language version).
 
The 32-bit version features a number of enhancements, such as
  • Colour syntax highlighting to assist readability and spotting mis-typed instruction keywords
  • Better integration with online help, with direct keyword lookup (highlight an instruction keyword and hit CTRL+F1 to look up the word).
  • Split screen editing. You can divide the editor screen horizontally and vertically to get 4 separate views of the same program
  • Program translation is about 6x faster
  • Better printing
We have also trimmed out some older stuff:
  • The HTML help file version of the SPLat Knowledge Base is no longer shipped with SPLat/PC 32-bit version. You can download it separately from our files area. Note that the online version is generally more up to date.
  • The example files have been left out of the installation. You can download the whole collection separately from our files area.
  • We have left out the UserComms directory. The same functionality, and more, is available through ModBus.

 
The final release of the 16-bit version is 8.20.3. It is still available below, but is no longer maintained or supported.
