Example: SPiceX and ModBus

You will find a collection of program examples on our website in the File Resources area. This includes a complete worked example of SPiceX (extended expansion) mode used in conjunction with ModBus. It includes a SPLat program SPiceX1.SPT and a companion Visual Basic 6 program in the folder SPiceX\ModBusAndSPiceX.

Both programs include extensive documentation. The VB6 program is designed to easily be adapted to other applications. It simply moves blocks of data into and out of the SPLat using ModBus.

Note: A later VB6 program is better to use if you want to grasp the basics of writing a simple ModBus handler in the PC.

For a very easy way of using a PC as a user interface to a SPLat, see SimpleHMI.
