Online training course: Serious education, but fun

The course will take you 10-25 hours to complete depending on your prior knowledge. When you have completed the course you will have acquired the following skills. Items marked with a * are of a general nature, not SPLat-specific:

1. The ability to understand and identify inputs and outputs*
2. Understanding the workings of sequential program functions, with programmed decisions made through testing and branching*
3. Use of the SPLat programming tools and a SPLat board during program development
4. The ability to define and analyze a moderately complex control requirement and define a solution in diagrammatic form*
5. The ability to translate the diagrammatic solution into SPLat FastTrack code
6. Using timeouts for fault detection*
7. Counting off events and actions
8. Programming Boolean (logical) functions
9. Program debugging*
10. Good programming practice*

The approach is very gentle, with lots of explanations and examples. You will benefit from it even if you are not planning to use SPLat in the near future. You can run the tutorial on-line, or if you prefer, download the files and run it off-line.
