PID control: Theory

In this chapter we will introduce you to the theory of closed loop control and PID control in particular. The approach is somewhat unconventional, in that the heavy mathematics is missing. Instead we will approach it from an point of view of real-work experience and descriptions that hopefully will give you some intuitive "gut feel" for the topic.

Several Excel spreadsheets are used in this work. Some contain macros. If Excel asks you if you want to enable macros please answer 'yes'.
