The SPLat CC18 may look a bit like a twee hobby module, but it is far from being one. This is a professional grade,
industrial strength, programmable logic controller board,
intended for Real World jobs. It has Real World outputs that can drive solenoid valves, contactors and
small stepper motors directly, at up to 500mA at 24VDC.
It has Real World 24V inputs, designed to be compatible with standard industrial NPN sensors. What's more, it has
Real World multitasking, floating point arithmetic,
ModBus communications and analog inputs.
It can be expanded using our
range of industrial strength expansion boards, with capacities up to 20A @240VAC.
If you need advanced sensor or peripheral functions, we have a whole range of add-ons, with functions including
pH/ORP measurement,
non-contact temperature measurement, and
relative humidity (RH sensor).
The only thing twee about this is the price and its credit card sized form factor.
The OEM suffixed versions are intended for quantity buyers who
have already developed their SPLat application.
CC18OEM
This is the bare CC18 board, for OEM use. The most economical way ever of buying an expandable off-the-shelf
controller with 16 digital I/Os and analog inputs. Matching I/O connectors are included.
If you need the CD we recommend the Developer's Kit.
This is a complete CC18 Developer's Kit. It contains the CC18 controller board,
all matching I/O connectors and all our
programming software, tutorials and other file resources on CD, plus free email-based technical support.
It also contains a PC232 programming cable/adaptor. You need at least one PC232 to program the CC18.
This is the same cable as used with the MS12x controller.
The CC16 was the predecessor of the CC18. The accessories are still named after CC16 for historical reasons and are compatible with both models.
CCBB
This Breakout Board is designed specially to simplify the development process using the CC18.
It provides convenient screw terminal connections for power and all digital I/O, plus indicator LEDs
to monitor outputs and DIP switches for activating inputs. With the CC16BB you can get your program 90%
tested without ever having to connect it to any external devices.
Ships with the mounting hardware pictured, which acts as feet for the
combined assembly to sit on your work bench. The CC16BB can be unplugged from the CC16 without
undoing any screws. Note this does not connect the CC18 analog inputs.

CC16TB
The CC16 Terminal Board is designed for production use where it is more convenient
to have screw terminals than the regular crimped friction lock connectors used on the CC18 itself.
It provides convenient screw terminal connections for power and all digital I/O, plus a pair of secondary
power terminals that have reverse polarity protection for anything connected "downstream".
Comes with mounting hardware to hold the two boards permanently together,
including threaded metal standoffs for fixing the combined assembly to a base plate (as pictured).
Note this does not connect the CC18 analog inputs.

TL485
- RS485 adaptor for serial communications
The TL485 is an RS485 adaptor designed specifically for the CC18/16's communication (programming) port.
This port is not RS232, but CMOS/TTL levels. The TL485 converts it to 2-wire (half duplex) RS485.
A special feature of the TL485 is that it provides automatic switching between transmit and received modes, by
sensing when the CC16 starts transmitting. With this you can have up to 32 separate devices exchanging ModBus data at 9600BPS.

X485 -
RS485 adaptor for Xwire
This adaptor sits piggy back on the CC family controller and converts its Xwire port to an RS485 interface.
Xwire protocol over RS485 will allow cable runs of up to 1km (with suitable cable and grounding precautions) and up to 32
devices. Note: This is specific to CC controllers. For the same function for other controllers see
XP485 on the general accessories page.
