Tech Support: Time interval measurement

Rich asked:

Hi David; I'm good at complex problems but I have trouble with simple ones! Here's a simple one that's puzzling to me:

How can I move the unknown value in data memory location X (seconds) to SETTIMER in order to countdown the time that an output is on??

Your help is always appreciated.

Best regards,
Rich

Hi Rich,
Look at the fSetTimer instruction. It was made specifically for this kind application.

You should perhaps also look at the SuperTimers. They are a more modern method that provides a much more versatile and wide-range timing facility that is not limited to 8 simultaneous timers.
