Credit card scams and Internet hoaxes

A friend just forwarded me one of those self-perpetuating emails that go around. This one was about credit card scams. It makes an interesting read.

Rather than reproduce it here I'll point you to the page that has it on scopes.com. Scopes is a website that publishes and exposes hoaxes of all kinds that are circulated on the net. Whenever I receive an circulating email with some way-out statement of a supposed truth, like outragous damages claims against fast-food chains, I check it out via Google, and often wind up at Scopes.
